GuysLikeU’s contributing style guru Andrew Whitty shares his spring must haves!
Listen up! It’s time for a spring clean! Depending on your level of O.C.D, that sentence will either fill you with dread or determination. You’ll either be shaking with nerves or excitement.
Thankfully we’re not talking about spending hours tossing out all the clutter from your bedroom, but rather taking five minutes in the morning spring-cleaning your face.
The harsh winter months can test your skin to the limit, leaving you looking tired, drab and basically a bit of a mess. However, there’s a light at the end of the long, dark, tunnel.
Now that the clocks have gone forward, the days are getting longer and your mug is about to look a whole lot better thanks to our guide to spring’s must-have grooming essentials.
We’ve tried and tested a whole range of new products on the market for spring 2016 and have summarised our favourite here. So what are you waiting for? Go forth and moisturise!
Try This Marvis-lous Toothpaste
You’re not five anymore so sadly bubblegum, or in fact any sweet flavoured toothpaste is a no-no. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t experiment with a little. Heritage brand Marvis’ Cinnamint option- which you guessed it, is a combination of cinnamon and mint – certainly wakes you up in the morning with a fiery kick in the gob, leaving you feeling fresh and ready to take on the day.
Ooh! You Scrub Up Well!
Cornerstone is a premium brand with a point of difference. Alongside offering top of the range products from balms to blades, they also run a ‘Shave Club’. No, it’s not a weekly meet-up where you’re helped with those hard to reach areas. It’s a flexible subscription service, meaning you’ll never run out of products again.
We particularly like the pre-shave face scrub. The dark mix of cedar wood and volcanic sand preps the face for shaving by unblocking pours and clearing the top surface of skin of any dead particles. Fancy!
The Grooming Clinic
The rapid growth of the male beauty industry means that now, there are more ways than ever to get your mitts on the products you love, as well as those undiscovered treasures. In some cases, you don’t even need to leave the house.
The Grooming Clinic is an online store specialising in niche brands from around the globe, not readily available on the High Street.
We absolutely adore the shaving cream from Carson’s Apothecary – a Iranian based grooming specialist with over forty years experience.
No 7’s Energising Face, Beard, Stubble Moisturiser
You don’t have to break the bank on a moisturiser to get the best result. Boots’ No 7 range has always been a favourite of ours, and now they’ve launched their latest product.
The face, beard and stubble moisturiser tackles all areas of your face, ensuring no part goes unloved. Although appearing somewhat greasy on the hand, the liquid quickly melts into your skin leaving you feeling soft, smooth and glowing.
You smell Scent-sational!
As well as looking good, it’s important to treat your nostrils too by ensuring you’re smelling on point.
We want you to be so far ahead of the trend we’re going to tell you about a fragrance that hasn’t even launched yet! Introducing Mr Burberry, the latest scent from the iconic British label.
Sensual and elegant with a striking brightness, Mr. Burberry sets the tone with uplifting yet sophisticated grapefruit and complex cardamom. Alongside the eau de toilette is a full grooming range and uber-sexy campaign – complete with subtle nudity!
