It’s with a heavy heart that we report that Drag Race star Chi Chi Devayne has died, aged 34. The gorgeous drag superstar who appeared on Season eight and season three of All Stars, succumbed to pneumonia.
The colourful star, otherwise known as Zavion Davenport, had previously been hospitalised back in mid August 2020 due to complications from a condition she suffered called scleroderma diagnosis.
Prior to that she had been treated for high blood pressure and suspected kidney failure. At the time she told fans she had had catheters to her heart and kidneys surgically installed before undergoing dialysis treatment.
Fellow queens have posted tributes.
RuPaul says she is “heartbroken” to hear about Chi Chi’s death, posting: “I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all.”
